Laser Hair Removal

After preparing the area to be treated by shaving the night before or day of treatment, your therapist will mark the areas to be treated by the laser. The laser is then placed above the skin, targeting the hair follicles. Shaving prior is important to keep hair growth visible for the laser to target and prevent burning of the hair; waxing will inhibit this detection making the treatment ineffective. You will feel light and sharp ping-like sensations from the laser but your comfort will not be compromised with cold air blowing on the skin, from an attachment of the laser device. You will be advised to avoid direct UV exposure of the treated areas for 2 weeks to protect your skin. After hair grows back after your treatment (4-6 weeks post-treatment) you will have another treatment. It is best to continue your course consistently with intervals of 4-6 weeks to achieve the best results.

It is recommended to have a course of 6 treatments minimum for successful hair removal. Because individual hairs grow at varying rates and cycles, multiple treatments allow the laser to detect the individual hairs once their pigment is visible against your skin. You may need maintenance treatments for long-term results.

You will notice results 2 weeks after your treatment when the hair will fall from it follicle. Hair will gradually grow back but it will grow back weaker. Once the hair has grown and is detectable on the skin, another treatment will target new hair growth and hair loss will follow 2 weeks post treatment and hair will grow back weaker than before. This process will repeat until hair stops growing back.
