Pigmentation can develop over time due to the exposure of UV rays from enjoying the sun, to melasma, influenced by hormones. Bodyvie offers a variety of treatments to help reduce unwanted pigmentation using Alexandrite, Nd:Yag, IPL, Fractional or Ruby laser.
After a face-to-face consultation in London with one of our highly experienced therapists, your pigmentation will be carefully assessed, and a bespoke treatment plan tailored to your unique skin will be recommended to achieve optimal results. Established in 1999 as one of London’s original medical-aesthetic pioneers, we have been providing personalised, high-quality consultations ever since.
Pigmentation appears as dark patches of skin like sun spots (lentigo), freckles, melasma, post-pregnancy mask, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
The cause of discolouration is most often sun damage, hormonal changes from contraception, pregnancy and hormonal therapies, affecting the cells which control pigment, known as melanocytes.
Our laser treatments emit extremely controlled length and depth pulses to selectively interact with unwanted melanin. These multiple wavelengths gently exfoliate and remove the pigmented skin, essentially raising the layers of discolouration to the surface of the skin to be eradicated.
The laser technology also penetrates the skin to activate its metabolism of skin cells to spark collagen production. Treatment varies for each individual depending on how deep or stubborn the pigmentation, resulting in the choice of laser and the number of treatments advised to accomplish results.
To maintain results, it is important to apply SPF, daily, to prevent further exposure from UV rays.
Laser Sunspot & Pigment Removal is carried out at our Richmond clinic only, at 133-135 Kew Road, TW9 2PN. It is not available at our Belgravia clinic.
We deliver this treatment with the Lynton Lumina, the medical IPL and laser platform at our Richmond clinic.
