The Lowdown on Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Whether you’ve always been unhappy with the shape of your nose, or like an expanding waistline and less than perfect skin, you’ve noticed unwelcome changes to it as you’ve aged, there’s now a safe, non-invasive way that you can improve your nose without resorting to surgery. We’ve asked Bodyvie’s doctors to tell us more…

What would be my first point of call if I were to consider having my nose reshaped?

As a first step, we would recommend a doctor consultation. It’s important to ensure you are consulted by your treating physician. Avoid being seen by a ‘patient coordinator’ as a first point of contact, who then re-books you for your treatment with a doctor/nurse. We would also encourage you to do your research and ensure you’re seeing a specialist cosmetic doctor with experience. A useful guide on questions you should address can be found at qualityiskey.com

During your consultation, your doctor will assess the treatment area and discuss your desired outcome. They will provide an exact costing and talk you through the procedure, the product used, results and duration of results. Now is the time to ask them any questions that you may have and to make sure you’re comfortable before going ahead.

What does the procedure entail?

A non-surgical nose job is an injectable treatment where dermal filler is injected to correct asymmetry and/or fill bumps in the nose. In some cases, where required, Botox might be administered in addition to the dermal filler to lift the tip of the nose.

Who would carry out my nose job?

At Bodyvie only our specialist cosmetic doctors carry out dermal filler and Botox treatments.

What can a non-surgical nose job achieve?

There are a number of improvements that can be gained with a non-surgical nose job. The treatment can reshape the nose by filling concavities and bridges and correcting asymmetry to create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. Although product is administered, this won’t make the nose look larger, it may actually appear smaller as proportions become improved

What can’t a non-surgical nose job achieve?

A non-surgical nose job will not make the nose smaller or shorter, but it will improve symmetry and alignment, which often results (as mentioned above) in the nose appearing smaller in most cases.

What type of filler is used?

Hyaluronic Acid filler is used for the non-surgical nose job. Most commonly we use Restylane and Juvederm. The filler will be selected based on the amount of product required for the procedure.

Is there any reason why you might refuse to carry out the procedure?

Yes, if it couldn’t meet patient expectations and also, if adding volume would not benefit the aesthetic outcome

How painful is this treatment?

Most clients say it isn’t very painful at all. You may experience a little initial discomfort, however topical anaesthetic is applied to prepare the skin and numb the treatment area. In addition, the dermal fillers contain anaesthetic and this makes the procedure more comfortable.

Will there be any bruising/swelling?

Dermal fillers are an injectable treatment, and as such, there are possible associated side effects which include bruising, redness and swelling. Whilst this is not common, it does happen and cannot be predetermined.

How long will the results last?

It depends on the choice of filler brand but on average 8-12 months.

What if I’m not happy with my nose job?

As a non-surgical nose job, results are achieved by administering hyaluronic acid which is metabolised by the body naturally, so results are not permanent. Fillers can also be dissolved using hyalase should patient wish for the effects to be reversed without waiting for natural metabolisation.

How much does a non-surgical nose job cost?

Treatment costs from £275 depending on the amount of filler administered, the brand, and also whether it is a standalone filler treatment, or if Botox is combined. The maximum cost is £450.
