Dr Andrew Weber, registered with the General Medical Council as Andrzej Marek Weber under GMC number 2693226, founded Bodyvie in Richmond in 1999 and has led the clinic as Medical Director ever since. He has more than forty years of clinical experience across general practice, hospital medicine, women’s health, men’s health, occupational health, NHS commissioning and medical aesthetics. He studied medicine at the Royal Free Medical School in London, qualifying MBBS in 1981. He is appraised annually through MEDSU, an independent designated body, and revalidated with the GMC every five years.

What Dr Weber treats at Bodyvie

• Assessment and management of aesthetic complications

Surgical procedures at Bodyvie, including blepharoplasty and canthopexy, are carried out by our cosmetic surgeon Dr Vadim Corjos rather than by Dr Weber. His role includes clinical leadership of the practice and the integration of medical, aesthetic and surgical services.

Career

Founder and Medical Director, Bodyvie, 1999 to present. Established the clinic in Richmond and developed it into a doctor-led medical and aesthetic practice. Associate Specialist in Urology, Ealing Hospital, 1996 to 2000. Men’s health alongside his general practice career. He established and ran an erectile dysfunction clinic during this period. GP Lead for Commissioning, Ealing Primary Care Group, around 2000 to 2002. NHS commissioning and primary care service development, during the transition from GP fundholding to the Primary Care Trust structure. He had previously been fundholding lead within his own practice, and served on the Local Medical Committee until 2001. Occupational health, General Medical Clinics, 1999 to 2001. Women’s health and family planning, 1984 to 1990. Around one session a week alongside general practice, during which he gained his DRCOG and Family Planning Certificate. This established a professional interest in women’s health that continues today in his menopause work. Air ambulance and international medical repatriation, 1984 to 1989. Caring for patients during long-distance medical transfers, involving acute assessment, stabilisation and transport medicine. General practitioner, South Australia, 1990 to 1991. A six-month GP exchange. Diabetes clinic assistant, 1994 to 1995.

Medico-legal work

For approximately twelve years Dr Weber acted as a defence expert witness for the Medical Protection Society, preparing independent expert reports. The work involved detailed review of medical records, assessment of clinical management against expected standards of care, and providing professional opinions for medico-legal proceedings.
