There can be various reasons your healthcare specialist requests that you obtain an ultrasound scan. Only if coils are fitted correctly will they prevent pregnancy and, in the case of menopause management, provide suitable results. If any of the following are of concern to either the patient or their medical specialist, a scan might be requested:
Bodyvie offers Private GP Services. If it is determined during the scan that your coil has moved, is wrongly positioned, or the strings have disappeared, our GPs offer coil removal and coil fitting. In instances where the removal is too complex and requires surgical removal or general anaesthetic, you will be referred to a specialist and provided with the ultrasound report and imaging to help your gynaecologist.
A full bladder is required for this scan, so you will be advised to drink one pint of water an hour before your scan.
