Hyperhidrosis
Excessive Sweating Treatment
- Suppresses the apocrine glands
- Reduces anxiety of sweaty underarms
- Also treats facial sweating
Treating excessive sweating involves injecting an anti-wrinkle solution to the sweat glands of the area you would like treated such as the underarms.
This treatment works by using a special protein to suppress the apocrine glands, which produce sweat. This treatment is most commonly used to tackle excessive underarm sweating, but it can also be performed elsewhere on the body where sweating is experienced, such as the forehead.
Although sweating is a normal bodily function designed to keep us cool, excess sweating can trouble a number of people.
The clinical name given to this excessive sweating is hyperhidrosis. While not harmful to your health, excessive sweating can be difficult to live with, causing anxiety and a lack of self-confidence, especially in social settings.
The treatment is administered using very fine needle. “the invisible needle”. Discomfort is very minimal and you might feel a very slight stinging sensation whilst the solution is injected, but any discomfort is not long lasting.
Only one session is required. Following initial treatment, our doctors offer a two week top up period in which additional product can be administered if there is any further sweating or clamminess.
Injections for excessive sweating take 5-7 days to take effect on average. Some patients might experience response faster than this.
