Plasma Pen
The Non-Surgical Solution for Excess Skin Removal
- Improve & brighten skin tone & texture
- Tighten loose skin
- Combat wrinkles & loss of collagen
Whether you’re looking to rejuvenate your skin, remove skin tags, warts and other blemishes, or reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, the Plasma Pen can produce amazing results without the degree of risk and unpredictability surgery can bring.
As the name suggests, the Plasma Pen is a pen-like device that projects a small electric arc from the tip and onto the surface of your skin, never making direct contact. This safe treatment does not affect or damage the skin surrounding the targeted area.
Plasma skin tightening and excess skin removal are carried out using an electric current that creates a plasma arc; this process vaporises the top layer of the epidermis at targeted locations. Specific plasma ablation zones result in a tightening and healing response, which, when used, tighten stubborn areas of loose skin. This process has notable effects when used around the eyes (blepharoplasty, eye-lift) and neck.
The Plasma Soft-Surgery Device is also used to target and correct areas of skin pigmentation, permanent wrinkles and scars, as well as resurfacing for the removal of skin tags, milia, warts, verruca
and mole removal.
Using a Cosmetic Corrector device, procedures work at a low distance of 1mm away from the skin’s surface and produces a small electrical arc at its tip, known as a plasma arc. Upon contact with the skin, a process of sublimation occurs, where the plasma arc vaporises a millimetre-sized dot on the skin’s surface.
This plasma arc technology allows the treatment area to be wider and shallower than conventional thermal-only devices, resulting in greater tightening effects, more visible results and a quicker healing process for patients.
In addition to treating single zones, a Plasma Soft-Surgery Device can also be used to combine multiple treatment points together, creating a ‘reduction grid’.
The grid system forms specific patterns, allowing for the removal of excess, loose skin. This procedure has a variety of names in the market today, most commonly fibroblast treatment and plasma skin resurfacing.
At Bodyvie, we perform Plasma Soft-Surgery device treatments with a revolutionary Cosmetic Corrector device that combines plasma and low-frequency (NF+) technology.
The Plasma Soft-Surgery treatments are minimally invasive and combined with local anaesthetic, ensuring patient comfort. Patients can expect to experience redness, swelling and carbon crusting, which generally takes 7-10 days to disappear.
It is important not to scratch, pick or rub the area treated. Full recovery varies but can take 4-6 weeks.
The Plasma Pen can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles across the face and give the effect of an eyelid lift. It’s also commonly used for carrying out tummy lifts smoothening areas of skin to give a more contoured appearance.
Once the healing period is over, the scab formed by the Plasma Pen will fall off, leaving your skin smooth, healthy-looking and free of these imperfections.
Removing age spots makes the skin appear more uniform in tone and more youthful.
The skin around the neck and jawline can be tightened to give a smooth and more even texture.
Eliminate scars to reveal smooth and even skin.
A single treatment is usually sufficient for treating the issues outlined above, though in some cases 2 or more sessions 3 months apart may be recommended, depending on the individual.
Plasma Pen results are permanent however, some patients may wish to undergo further treatment as new signs of aging manifest, generally between 12-24 months apart.
One of the many benefits of the Plasma Pen, is you will notice the results of treatment immediately. You’ll see the effects continue to manifest even after treatment, thanks to continued tightening after the procedure.
No. You can resume normal activities straight away after you leave the clinic. However, the crusts take 7-10 days on average to fall off and full recovery of pink, newly exposed skin varies but can take 4-6 weeks.
