There are a variety of more commonly used names, including thread veins, spider veins, rosacea, vascular blemishes and spider naevi.

In addition to its primary function of treating vascular conditions, Thermavein is very successful at treating skin tags and milia, which are small white keratin-filled cysts which appear on the surface of the skin. These are commonly found on the cheeks.

Thermavein is a straightforward and accurate treatment using a unique thermocoagulation process. It delivers a tiny microwave current for under 0.2 seconds at a time, which travels a maximum of 1.5mm into the treatment area. By comparison, this is a similar size to the head of a pin or a grain of sand. The technique causes the vein to close, and then the current causes it to disappear instantly.

Treatments are very quick, with facial treatment taking no more than 15 minutes. Body areas can take up to 30 minutes, given the larger treatment area.

Thermavein is effective as a standalone treatment for certain veins but also acts brilliantly as a combination therapy alongside Sclerotherapy and IPL treatments when targetting less superficial vascular lesions and more complex skin conditions.
