What does the treatment involve?

After cleansing your skin, your aesthetician will apply a layer of a topical anaesthetic gel to the area of skin being treated. Next, the topical anaesthetic will be wiped off after 30 to 60 minutes, and treatment will commence.

Your aesthetician or doctor will apply the laser to the treatment area. You will feel the warmth of the laser as the laser slightly touches the skin with targeted beams of light. Cool air is applied to the area to ensure a comfortable treatment.

Following the acne scar removal treatment, SPF50 will be applied to the skin to protect it from UV rays and to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation from sun exposure. You will be asked to avoid the sun for 2 weeks as your skin heals.

How many treatments do I need?

Treatment requirements vary depending on the severity of the scarring being treated, skin health, skin type etc.

Generally speaking, a course of 3 treatments is required with maintenance sessions to follow, ensuring long term results.

How quickly will I see results?

Immediately following treatment and over the following 3-5 days, superficial little pixelated scabs might develop. This is the resurfacing process at play and is expected.

Once this clears, results can be seen in 1-2 weeks with optimal results achieved 3-4 months after each treatment.
