But there is a way that doesn’t involve going under the knife. At Bodyvie, we offer LPG Endermologie treatment, which tackles cellulite (also often called ‘orange peel’ skin) by firming, tightening, and getting rid of targeted fat cells.

Before discussing how LPG Endermologie works and its unique capabilities for skin resurfacing, let’s find out what cellulite is…

A Little Bit About Cellulite

Cellulite predominantly affects women and can be influenced by several factors, including hormones and genes. Studies have revealed that as many as 80 to 90% of women have some form of cellulite, which shows it’s not just something that affects women with a high body fat percentage.

Cellulite is the accumulation of water and fat within the lipocytes (fat cells where energy is stored). Once this build-up reaches a certain stage, the cells become an abnormal shape, causing cellulite to occur.

How Does LPG Endermologie Work?

LPG Endermologie is currently the only non-surgical treatment approved by the FDA for reducing cellulite. The French innovation that underpins it is highly sophisticated and clinically proven to give results without damaging any layers of the skin.

The deep-massage technique is combined with suction to encourage the creation of new collagen and hyaluronic acid, the naturally occurring substances responsible for thickening skin tone and texture.

The History of LPG Endermologie

Like most of the best innovations in life, LPG Endermologie for cellulite treatment came about quite by accident. It was first developed to improve scarring and burns after its pioneer, Guitay, suffered muscle damage in a car accident. It soon became evident that the same concept of stimulating collagen and hyaluronic acid in the skin could also be harnessed to smoothen cellulite in common areas like the thighs and buttocks.

Is LPG Endermologie Permanent?

As of yet, there is no permanent treatment to address cellulite. This said, the results of LPG Endermologie can last for an average of 6 months. However, this can be longer if you commit to regular body-toning exercises that target areas where cellulite is most likely to occur.

A balanced diet high in protein and vegetables and low in saturated fat, carbohydrates and salt can also help ensure cellulite doesn’t make a welcome return too soon. As salt causes water retention (remember the point about water retention and cellulite above?), this is a particular ingredient to keep an eye on in your diet if you wish to maximise the results of LPG Endermologie.

There is a commitment to be made if you choose to reap the results of LPG Endermologie, though. 10 to 20 sessions are recommended one week apart (depending on how much cellulite is present), so the ideal candidate will need to commit and persevere with the course if they want to see the body-toning and tightening results.

Many of our patients who see LPG Endermologie through to the end tell us how worthwhile the commitment has been. Confidence and a better body image are a direct result of having treatments such as LPG Endermologie, which can take away the stress that might be felt by being unclothed or in a bikini or swimsuit.

LPG Endermologie is available with our aesthetic practitioners at our Richmond clinic. Contact our team to learn more about the treatment and book yourself a consultation.
