PlexR is a non-surgical treatment for excess eyelid skin that refreshes and rejuvenates the eyes. Since 1999, as one of London’s pioneering advanced medical clinics, our expert team ensures safe, effective, and optimal results.

Commonly known as the non-surgical eyelid lift, the non-surgical blepharoplasty uses plasma to create a small arc of electricity with our PlexR device, which targets superficial skin cells using precisely applied heat. This vaporises excess skin in the eyelid or undereye for a long-lasting tightening effect.

Our doctors use the PlexR device to precisely vapourise areas of excess skin. Dr Weber brings over two decades of experience to our clinic, having served as Lead Doctor and Medical Director at Bodyvie, worked at some of Harley Street’s most prestigious clinics, and contributed to the lecture circuit. With his extensive medical credentials and expertise, Dr Weber prioritises ongoing professional development for the team, ensuring every patient receives personalised, high-quality consultations and access to the latest aesthetic technologies.

After PlexR treatment, the treated area will develop small scabs as the skin heals. These tiny micro-traumas stimulate collagen production, helping the skin become stronger, firmer, and more youthful. It is very important not to pick at or disturb the scabs and to allow them to fall off naturally. While the area is healing, you can lightly cover the marks with a mineral foundation, such as Vichy, until the skin has fully recovered.

PlexR is ideal for the sensitive areas around your eyes as it does not cause damage to the surrounding and underlying skin. PlexR can treat the upper eyelids and below the eyes but the treatment of each much be done separately to reduce the effects of swelling during recovery. It is available in our clinic in London.

Droopy Eyelid

Droopy eyelids are caused by excess skin which appears more pronounced over time due to sun damage, skin laxity or water retention. The appearance of excess skin on the eyelid may emphasise the signs of ageing and fatigue and causes the upper eyelid to droop downward. The reasons for droopy eyelids include genetics or damage to the eye, with the condition becoming more likely as we age.

As we age, we begin to lose collagen which contributes to the skin’s plumpness and youth. As collagen decreases, skin becomes thinner and loose, creating the droopy eyelid. Treatment is not always necessary but if there is an impact on vision and comfort, Bodyvie’s tried and trusted treatment options can help alleviate the situation.

Treatments such as PlexR and resurfacing lasers like Youlase help to vaporise excess skin to tighten the eyelid for a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

What does the treatment involve?

After an in-depth consultation with one of our specialist cosmetic doctors you will be prepped with topical anaesthetic for comfort. The procedure will leave behind tiny scabs which will clear up within 2 to 3 weeks.

You may also experience some slight soreness and swelling in the treatment area, but this will also soon subside. Individuals results may vary and healing time may be quicker or slower for depending on the individual.

How many treatments do I need?

In some cases only a single session is required. Where skin in very lax and hanging low, multiple sessions might be required to achieve optimal results. This can be determined in consultation with your doctor.

How quickly will I see results?

The removal of the skin is instant and can be seen as the device treats the area. There is associated downtime to treatment, so results are best seen at 2 weeks once swelling and crusting has subsided.
