Biofiller is a regenerative injectable treatment using a processed part of your own blood to help with subtle volume and skin quality. It is commonly considered by patients seeking a natural looking approach to facial rejuvenation without the use of traditional dermal filler.
At Bodyvie, the Biofiller treatment begins with a consultation. We will look at your face, the quality of your skin, your medical history and your expectations to decide if this is the right treatment for you.
A natural injectable option
Biofiller is derived from your own blood sample. The sample is processed to create a gel of plasma that can be injected into specific areas of the face. Biofiller is different from conventional dermal fillers because its structure is not made from synthetic hyaluronic acid.
This is meant to give a softer, more natural kind of support, and it is also meant to promote the slow improvement of the tissue that is treated. This makes it more appropriate for those patients who want a subtle change rather than a very defined or sculpted result.
Areas that may benefit
Biofiller may be considered for areas where mild volume loss or skin thinning has become noticeable. This may include:
- Soft lines around the mouth
- Mild hollowness in selected areas
- Tired-looking facial features
- Early loss of skin firmness
- Crepey or thinner skin texture
- General facial freshness and skin support
Suitability depends on your anatomy, skin quality and the extent of volume loss. If a different treatment provides a better outcome, this will be discussed at consultation.
Who performs your treatment. All injectable treatments at Bodyvie are carried out by our GMC-registered doctors: Dr Andrew Weber (GMC 2693226), Dr Vadim Corjos (GMC 7822977) and Dr Dara Suite (GMC 7130257). Every treatment begins with a face-to-face consultation with the doctor who will be treating you.
Before your treatment plan is agreed
Your practitioner will look at your face both at rest and in motion. We will discuss what you would like to improve and if realistically Biofiller can achieve this.
Your medical history is also studied, including previous treatments, medication, allergies and any conditions that may affect healing. This helps Bodyvie create a plan that is safe, suitable and clear prior to treatment going ahead.
What happens during the procedure
A small amount of blood is taken at the appointment. This is then processed in-clinic to create the plasma-based Biofiller. The area to be treated is cleaned and for your comfort a numbing cream may be applied.
The Biofiller is then carefully injected into the agreed areas using fine injections or a cannula, depending on the treatment plan. The appointment usually only takes a short time and you can leave the clinic soon after.
The first few days after Biofiller
You may experience mild redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising after treatment. As they settle, some areas may feel a bit firm or uneven. These effects usually improve in the following days.
You might be advised to avoid heat, strenuous exercise, alcohol, makeup and active skincare for a short period after treatment. You will be given clear aftercare advice before you leave Bodyvie.
How the outcome develops
You can get a soft volume effect right after treatment, but the real result is seen as the swelling goes down. Normally changes in skin quality are more gradual.
A series of treatments may be recommended depending on your concern to support a better, longer-lasting result.
Results vary from one person to another and depend on skin condition, age, lifestyle, treatment area and how your tissue responds.
Fees following consultation
Biofiller treatment cost at Bodyvie is confirmed post consultation.
The price is based on the size of the area, the amount required and whether a course or single treatment is recommended. You will receive a clear quotation before you decide to proceed.
Important clinical points
As with any injectable treatment, Biofiller carries some risks. These may include bruising, swelling, tenderness, infection, unevenness, temporary lumps or an unsatisfactory result.
But because it uses your own blood, it might not be right for everyone. Your practitioner will explain the benefits, limitations and alternatives before treatment.
Care led by assessment
Bodyvie is a doctor-led clinic in Richmond, providing regenerative and aesthetic treatments in a clinical environment.
Biofiller should be used only if it fits your face structure, skin quality and treatment goals. The emphasis is on subtle, natural looking enhancement with clear medical direction.
