Confirmed after consultation
The Plasma Soft-Surgery Device is a non-surgical treatment to treat selected skin concerns with controlled plasma energy. It can be used for skin tightening, fine lines, pigmentation, scars and minor lesions such as skin tags, milia or warts, depending on the clinical evaluation.
At the moment, Bodyvie’s treatment information describes the device as using plasma and low frequency technology, with side effects of redness, swelling and carbon crusting to be expected for around 7 to 10 days post treatment.
Precise plasma energy for surface concerns
Plasma Soft-Surgery generates a controlled plasma arc at the surface of the skin. This method is a non-surgical, incision-free approach to the targeted area.
The treatment creates a controlled response in the skin that can help with tightening, resurfacing and local repair. This can be used on small, specific areas or planned over a larger treatment area depending on the concern.
it is not the same as surgery and does not give the same result as surgery lift This might be appropriate where a more focused non-surgical approach is suitable.
Areas Bodyvie may assess
Plasma Soft-Surgery may be considered for different concerns across the face and body. This may include:
- Fine lines and permanent wrinkles
- Mild skin laxity
- Pigmentation marks
- Selected scars
- Skin tags
- Milia
- Warts or verrucae
- Small treatment zones requiring controlled resurfacing
Suitability is determined by concern, skin type, medical history and the area being treated. Others may not be ready for removal yet or may need additional evaluation before removal.
Deciding if treatment is appropriate
Your practitioner will look closely at the area and then make recommendations for treatment. We will look at the size, site and type of problem, and the quality of your skin and healing. Your medical history, previous treatment, medication, scarring tendency and pigmentation risk are also assessed.
This consultation is important because not all skin types or concerns are candidates for plasma treatment. Bodyvie will advise if this is the right approach or if some other treatment would be safer or more effective.
What happens during the session
The treatment area is cleaned and prepared. Anaesthetic may be used depending on the area and treatment plan, or applied locally. Then the device is used to create small, controlled points of plasma energy over the target area.
The exact pattern and intensity depends on what is being treated. The appointment is usually a simple one but the area treated will be visibly marked afterwards. This is part of the natural healing process.
The visible healing phase
You can expect redness, swelling and small carbon crusts after treatment. Let these crusts fall off by themselves. Do not pick, rub or disturb the treated area as this may increase the risk of scarring or pigment changes.
You may be told to avoid the sun, heat, active skin care, make-up and strenuous exercise for a short period of time. Clear aftercare instructions will be given to you before you leave Bodyvie.
Skin changes after healing
Results build up slowly as the skin heals itself. As healing progresses, the treated area may look smoother and tighter or more even.
The timeline depends on the concern treated, the size of the area and your individual response to healing. In some patients, more than one treatment may be required, while some may need only one.
Risks and suitability checks
Risks could include swelling, redness, bruising, infection, scarring, changes in pigmentation, uneven texture or an unsatisfactory result.
Not suitable for patients with darker skin types, active infection, poor healing history or certain medical conditions. These points will be pre treatment discussion.
